Adding Oxford Textbooks to your iPad
If you have purchase a new or used Oxford Press textbook that comes with a code for a digital textbook this guide will help step you adding the textbook to your iPad. It is recommended that you download the textbooks on your home internet connection as the internet connection at John Curtin can be very slow during the school day.
In order to add a Oxford Press textbook to your iPad you will need to do the following.

Create an Oxford digital account
- Add the textbook to your bookshelf
- Download the textbook to your iPad
Create an Oxford digital account
If you already have an account you can skip this step.
On a web browser go to the site www.oxforddigital.com.au
Located at the top right hand corner of the page is the register button.
- Click on the "register" button
- On the new page select "Secondary" for account type
- Click on the Next button
- A new form page will load. Fill in the form with your details.
- Click the register button at the bottom of the form
- You will be sent an email to the email address you used to register.
- Open the email from Oxford digital
- Click on the Activate button
- This will launch your web browser and activate your account.
You have now created a new account. Your username is the email address you used to fill in the form.
Add the textbook to your bookshelf
- Open the physical textbook to the front cover and you will find an oBook activation code.

You should have a numeric code. On a web browser go to the site www.oxforddigital.com.au

Sign in using your Oxford digital account
- Click the "add a new" button.

Enter your code in the window that pops up.

Click Activate.
You have now added a digital copy of your textbook to your Oxford digital account.
Download the textbook to your iPad
Follow these step in the Safari application on your iPad

Tap on the Safari app

Goto www.oxforddigital.com.au
- Tap the Sign In button in the top right hand corner

Enter the email address and password you used to create your Oxford Digital account
- Tap the Sign In button
- Tap on the textbook you wish to download
- This will open a new safari window. It may take a few moments for your PDF to load.
- Once loaded tap on any section of the textbook
- A bar will appear at the top of the screen
- tap "Open in iBooks
- The eBook will now save to Apple's iBooks and can be accessed from the iBook app on your iPad for offline reading
Important: In order to download the textbook your iPad will need to remain on and at the download screen. If you turn off your iPad or change applications the download will pause. Depending on your internet speed and textbook size your download could take up to 30 minutes.
If you would like to walk away and leave your iPad while it downloads the textbook follow the steps here to turn off your AutoLock and prevent the iPad from going to sleep.

Press the home button on the iPad

Tap on the settings app

Tap on the General button on the left hand side

Tap AutoLock on the right hand side
- Tap on the Never option
